Apparently there is an article in the August issue of Dragon magazine with pics of flint, tanis...and raistlin! I'm going to my local d20 store now to see if they have it in, and I'll post the pics if they are in there.

The people standing in that booth do nothing to ease stereotypes.

This topic exploded while I was on vacation and I'm pretty damn sure it's not about the Dragon magazine article anymore. *considers closing*

Tonka, I'm on vacation. so I'm counting on you to keep these things posted.
Um... Would you look at that mullet and matching gut on that guy! Talk about stuck in the 80's!

Tas only looks like a child because he is samll. He in fact is a man, and should have a jaw line, adam's apple, etc... I'm just glad he doesn't have a square chin, as some lucky photo scoopers proclaimed he would have.

I looked at the photo... Tas looks more "manly" then he should... Defined jaw and cheek bones? Looks more like a little man then a child. I still have high hopes for the movie though! Been waiting for this movie too long....

Ah ha ha hahahahahaha!

I get to beat super sluth James to the big scoop. Just looked at a sneek peek of head shot of Tasslehoff from the cartoon.

Follow the link to the picture.

Haha you're right! Actually they reminded me of Danny Trejo when I first saw them..

I fear this is an insult to Alice Cooper though, i hate those pictures, I HATE THEM!!!! And i just went to my local D&D store and read saw the pictures with me own eyes..... still not impressed, even with the real deal. And i have to say that i always thought Elmore was maybe not the greatest artist who's ever lived but he penned great images for Dragonlance. I'm sorry to see that some of you stomp on his work.....

Oh my god, "the ant's pants" might possibly be my new favorite expression! Followed closely by "the bee's knees," "too many chiefs and not enough indians," and "the right hand's not talking to the left." I digress...

those pics are... anticlimactic! A really goofy close up of Raistlin's face and some pics we pretty much already saw. Good thing everyone crapped their pants over this... hooray for propaganda!

I agree Micaa. I like those pics of your's better than the pic of Raist from the card, especially that last one. I still hope thats not how Raistlin will look in the movie don't ask me why. As I've said before hope springs eternal.

Raistlin's face looks rather old in those comics. Are they from Legends (Guessing because of his Black robe and what I can make out of the dialogue)? If so, then he would only be in his early 30's right?

I love how he is snarling in all of those pictures, and you're right, he does look "better". But its not how I know him. This stuff is timeless to me in that I grew up with Elmore, and I am happy that they are going with that kind of a vibe. None of that "supersized", new age, johnny come laetly, fixing things that aren't broken, confusing all the little kids, Raistlin stuff thats out there these days.
But we all should have seen this comming. When ever something is presented in a different medium, nothing looks like it did before. At least they didn't decide to change everything about him. We could have got a golden haired heart throb mage for all the girls to fall in love with.

the screenshots that have been posted so far for the dragonlance movie are terrible, like someone said before very 80's cartoony
they should have either went full cgi or anime style cartoon, a inu yasha art style would have been decent. i hafta agree with the person that said if i were Margret weis i would go running far away from this project, live action would have been ideal but if they did it in a more up to date art style it could have been ok

these are some of the best comic dragonlance art of raistlin i have ever seen, i gotta say the stuff from the movie ive seen of raistlin is laughable

I have'nt been really as interested in the digital work by Stawicki at any point he started doing the covers. His work is watered down Vallejo. Larry brought something to the table as far as style and early conceptual treatment. I do'nt equate realism, commercially slick or conceptually slick anymore with talent. There are so many johnny come latelys out there these days I just do'nt care. The only artist I can say who stands alone as far as breathing life into his visual tapestry as of late would be BROM.

LOL tonka, Im glad you dont care since I really dont take verbal beatings well.
I'm surprised at how many people dont like elmores work much. I think that Priest4hire is right about him being integral to DL though. His style is very "old style fantasy" which is great for DL cos like tonka says, its very 80's. I actaully like the way this movie is shaping up, being an 80's child myself. The style reminds me off "the good ol'days."

Like fantasy, powerful mages, dragons, that kind of thing?
