Let me also add a few other details that many may or may not already be expecting. Some of the art seems very cartoonish and flat (the companions), while other pictures are very deep and 3D looking (Dragons). I assume this has to do with the mix of 2D and 3D that I keep hearing people talk about. Personally I have always thought that Shrek had very nice animation and I have ofter wondered why someone doesn't use this technology to make a more serious film like Dragonlance. Shrek's animation I personally think could work extremely well if done in a none cartoonish way (no oversized heads,etc...). I suppose it's an issue of money and a big studio wanting to take the task on? I don't know a lot about this stuff so I guess I am just sharing my personal opinion. (Anyone know how to contact Peter Jackson, I bet he knows the right buttons to push!) I sometimes wonder if Peter Jackson is a fan of these books, or if he has ever even read them? Just a thought...

Sorry but I cant seem to copy the pictures to this site? Unless someone has a helpful hint you will have to wait for someone more computer savvy.

up load them to photobucket.com
it only takes a few minutes to create an account. From there, under the pics you up load, there will be a URL link that you can copy and paste onto this site.

There is an "insert image" button on this site if you already have them uploaded. you click on that and you'll get "[ img][/img ]" put the URL in between the two boxes, and it should work.

James the pics are officially sent with all four pages of the article. If I see them up here soon I will know all went well, sorry about my inability to post them myself.

OK, looks like you figured it out. I'm not sure why the resolution is so bad as my scans look perfect in my folder maybe I will send them without shriking to see if it helps?

The picture of Raistlin's eyes actually shows the hourglass shape of his pupils in the original picture. Like I said not bad but not great. If the story and music are done well it will make up for a lot of shortcomings I hope. I am probably overly critical though because I want it to be perfect and anything short of live action just won't deliver. If the animated version succeeds on being dark and eerie with a good musical score that will help!

Actually, hy eyes are hazel... no joke. Green eyes are for red heads and blonds who messed up.

And look! The draconina's foot bends! And Pyros actually looks kinda mean, altho it doesn't appear to be a very good shot of him... I wonder if it has something to do with the scan? Oh well, I like them.

Things to note: Raistlin's hair = gold. Big no no. Hope its just a prinitng issue with the magazine, but doubtfull. The rocks behind tanis are draconins! Very cool, but his hair kind of looks like crap.
I really like the look of Flint and Sturm tho! That is one bad as moustach that even the Burt would have give the nod of approuval to! Flint just looks bad ass.

LMAO

Vassor that is just wrong. I am mentally scarred.

Thanks James & tirwin. I actually like the look. The coloring for Raist is a little off for me.

Complaining on the Internet has replaced baseball as America's favorite past-time.

ok dudes and dudettes,

Lets all thanks James and tirwin for the pics.

And let's thank Vassor for allowing us to finish off the week without the ability to eat.

Now... Before the "shit storm" starts... remember peoples... these are STILLS, and NOT put on the site by the producer but so very, extremely, nicely, promptly, scanned from paper (I admit I don't own a scanner so I don't know the quality performances) for us by the afore mentioned members. So before we get going off on a tangent and tearing a new one for the production crew...

If you are having "recall" problems (Arnie S. should be able to "total"-ly help you), re-read the comments et al. when the 1-year old stills were released. Also, go to the Nexus and refresh your brain cells on the threads there.

This means that we have to keep in mind that the pics we see, we can study, point out flaws, et al. Throughout the flic, it will last for a fraction of a second and any errors will be skipped by the next frame coming on the screen, and we are not able to see the "fluidity" of the motions. The pics are completely out of context (example, lighting and situation as to why Raistlin has yellow hair that matches his skin. Could be the scene [firelight in the Inn, in the cave by the lake, etc], or could be inadequacies of the drawing. We don't know)

Hopefully the throwing of "merde" won't piss too many people off-

Besides... that dagger was Flint's.

OMG, Vassor where did you come up with that? I 'bout pissed in my chair laughing over that one! I had forgotten that even existed, thanks for burning it in my brain! *shudders* I think I'll have nightmares for a week, maybe more.

Anyway, back on topic.....Finally, James, thanks to Tirwin (btw, welcome), has cleared his name and is not full of crap! (for now anyway )

Now, tw having said what he did and keeping that in mind, I will offically start the "shit storm"..........

1) Can't animators make hair that does not look like a mop on top of a head. I mean come on, Tanis' hair looks like a brown mop and his hair is not supposed to be brown! Maybe it's the scanning, maybe the magazine, or my screen, whatever. It's supposed to be red right? or am I just smoking crack?

2) Does Flint have blonde hair? I thought it was brown. I do kinda like how he looks other than that, at least from the shoulders up. I like the look of that still, wish the rest were more like that.

3) Raistlin's hair?? Hello, gray not.... okay, enough about hair. I think they could have done alot better on the eyes and is it just me or does that pic look like it could have come right out of a comic book? Being animated, I am not expecting much of this movie but I actually expected better than that, give me a break. I don't like it.

4) Pyros, if that is who that dragon is supposed to be, still looks like a worm with limbs and wings. Not putting the dragonfear in me!! I hate it, it's terrible!!

5) Sturm is okay, I actually think he looks pretty good.

All in all, about what I expected, it's a cartoon!!! Not happy with that, period. I'm done bitching, nothing I can do about it. I'll still buy the DVD but I'll probably grumble through the whole thing and even yell at the T.V. a few times.

Open mic, who's next...........

"No, not that way!.......If she'd 'ave kept on goin' down that way, she'd 'ave gone straight to that castle."
