let me begin by offering my thanks to both tirwin and james....finally some advil for that pain....
im not sure....it definatly could be worse...like aforementioned, raistlin's hair could be due to lighting or something. it looks better than i had imagined, but listening to you guys sometimes make me think were getting some pictures drawn by some first graders with their feet so my spirits were raised a considerable amount.
well just have to wait for more details and screenshots i guess (hint hint producers) |

on my other screen, flint's hair looked silver, or grey...
Dragons are pretty much just worms with claws and wings. thats why they are called wyrms, duh! Don't know what else you were expecting. That looks like a dragon to me.
But I totally agree agout tanis's mop, and raistlin's hair too. total lack of effort. But the draconians look way cooler, and maybe Tanis's hair won't look so dumb when its in motion. The wait for the trailer begins...
and I've had these pics up for almost 4 hours now and haven't been asked to take them down! wahoo! (James has officially beat the system, for now...)
Why insult the door's purpose by locking it?

Not that bad afterall, Tanis' picture looks pretty nice but Raistlin's??? What the hell???..... I knew it wasn't gonna be good.... it's not awful, just not good.... Do they really think it's par with the richness of the story? What troubles me the most is that Margaret seems to like what she's seen so far, I'm not entirely disapointed, but if i wrote Dragonlance, i wouldn't be excited by that.... It has some promise, but i'm definately not impressed....
And thanks guys for the pictures, it gives us a little hope....

i tihnk tanis loks good actually i dont mind the sturm drawing minus the no horns on helm(ya had to bring that up again). and why are Raists eyes glowing? i dont recall them seing flashlights. i half expect him to say Shirak and bam his eyes turn the ol high beams on. and the hair. hopefully its not blonde there was no point in his life it ever was...

Hey is it just me or when you squint your eyes and stare at the close up of Raistlin it starts to look like Megatron's face from the 80's cartoon.
Megatron and Raistlin. Yeah they similar in ways.

| The only problem I have with the pictures is that they're not the same as the 1's that are used on the covers of the book, which I knew that would happen, obviously. Since I've never had anything else to go off of, that's what I'd use for my imagination. That said, I like the way Tanis and Sturm look. But Flint with blonde hair??? WHAT?!?! |

It seems the scans of the pictures are pretty good quality except for the dragons, especially the red dragon pyros. In the magazine I think the picture looks quite good.
James where did you find that picture you use as an avatar? Is that dragonlance or what? That red dragon and the character all look great!
The dragonlance books had really cool art on the covers, I wonder why the cartoon art isn't more closely tied to those? Or is it and my mind just doesn't remember well from 20 years ago? I remember some of the covers of the Legends Trilogy had awsome covers of Raistlin and Caramon. That's how I want Raistlin to look!!!
By the way thanks for all the kind words and warm welcomes. I have actually been checking into this site and reading some of the topics since the fall of 2006, but I never registered to the site until yesterday when I began to realize no one had seen the Dragon magazine pictures yet, and I had just purchased that particular copy.
Thanks James for helping post them because if it was up to my computer skills to get the job done you would still probably be waiting...and for a very long time. |

Raistlin....*weeps* I don't think his hair is gold, though. He's probably sitting in front of a fire or something and it's reflecting off his hair. *hopes* Otherwise he looks REALLY unextraordinary.
Tanis looks great, though. Not quite sold on the 3d elements yet.

| If I were to guess on the Raistlin picture it may come from the Inn were the companions all meet and Raistlin sits near the fire in the corner. Then he leans out to greet the other companions and they see his golden skin and strange eyes for the first time, and by the fire light causing the eyes to reflect the glare? This could explain the pictures unusual colors and effects and would make perfectly good sense, as I am sure the Margret Weis wouldn't let them make Raistlins hair gold, she would have a fit just like the rest of us I would think. |

| I'm just relieved that there's actually something new. I don't mind the pics either. I'm going to see this even if it turns out like shit on toast. Though, I'm still a little bothered that the producers won't allow the website to get these pictures yet (have they forgotten?). How soon can we get them, good quality and some more if possible, in the latest news post? |

Jeez, they could of showed us these pics months ago and it would have been less bitching from me.
That one shot of Tanis has sold me. It is dramatic and cinematic. Love it.
For all you people complaining that Flint is blonde. Duh! The scene is night time so everything is in a tone of grey.
This forum is going to become very boring cause there is nothing to moan about anymore. This DL cartoon is all right.
I think it;sgonna be smooth sailing for here on in.
Oh and thanks james and twain for the pics. And if those coperate thugs over at Nexus force these Pics to be removed then they are a bunch of dumb arses as these pics are doing more good then harm.

Well well well, they aren't as crappy as I was expecting....except for Raistlin who looks average at best those eyes are not right at all and now thanks to Tonka I'll be forever waiting for him to transform into a giant pistol! . I think flint looks pretty good although a bit pale, his hair colour is ok by me he's an old man after all. Tanis is not bad although he looks a little weak featured to me but as previously stated these pics are only stills and maybe animation will bring him to life a little more. I agree with the comments about the hair, it doesn't look quite right does it.
All up though not to bad but I'll have to see an awesome looking trailer to ease my concerns.
